It’s been close to four years now since the original Xbox 360 was released on the market.  In that time, the xbox 360 3 red lights problem has caused more heartache for video gamers than any other problem in videogame history.  Early on, Microsoft was in denial of problem, in blaming everything but aliens for its existence.  After a year and a half or so, they finally came to realize that it was indeed a real problem, a design problem to be specific, and that they needed to take drastic action to save their reputation of the gamer community.  So, what they did is extend the xbox 360’s warranty to a full three years to cover the 3 red lights problem.That of course was a welcome change from their previous position, but many gamers are still unsatisfied with that solution since it means sending their Xbox unit back to a Microsoft approved repair facility for repairs.  Some people have even reported being without their X360 for up to a  month, including shipping time.  Latest information is that the current repair time is closer to about two weeks since the number of failures on the 360 unit is much lower today than it was a couple years ago.
