The “S” stands for speed (2.9 times) apparently, on apps and the internet etc.  The compass is there (never needed a real one?), the video is there for YouTube fanatics with 32GB option to store the video. The 3MB camera with Autofocus is going towards answering many critics, along with voicecontrol. Many of the other items such as Cut n paste along with MMS are OS3.0 upgrades trace cell phone numbers so we don’t count those. With a stroke - an iPhone is now a competitive option for austere consumers (and lets face it  - who isn’t one?). OS 3.0 with the much needed functionality enhancements will only enhance that position.
