Thesis Statement Tips — Stay Focused
When it comes to how to phrase your thesis, it can be easy to lose your original focus because you want things to sound good. I can give you a few thesis statement tips to maintain a good and organized thesis. First off, don’t worry about fluffing things up and catching your reader. That is what the beginning of your first paragraph is for. The thesis is to tell what will be discussed in your paper. Never, ever be vague. For example, “It seems…”. You need to be exact. In doing so, your thesis and overall paper will seem strong. (In me saying ‘’seem”, my sentence is weakened, see?). The thesis can even bring in counter-arguments. When you do this, be SURE to refute it or you’ll lose your whole paper from the beginning. Think of your thesis as a conclusion for your paper, but in the beginning.
