There is no doubt that reading is the most important aspect to education but after that must come writing. Writing and especially good writing enables you to communicate with people who are not with you in the physical sense.

You can write something that could be read by someone in a different period of history. Shakespeare is recognized as one of the great writers but what if he had never learned to write? He might have been able to remember everything and teach actors the lines they had to read but it would have all died out with him if he had not been able to write.

So, learning how to write well is a very important aspect of life. If you can write well you can instruct your employees, explain to customers what problems you are having to deal with or encourage buyers. You may want to write simply for the fun of it but knowing how to write is very important.
