Google will let you get your phone number out of their system. They say it takes 48 hours but when you go to the "name removal feature," they point out that it will only remove it from the Google phonebook, and they list 6 other reverse phone listing lookup services: Anywho, Whitepages.com, Phonenumber.com, Switchboard.com, Reverse Phone Directory, and Smartpages.com. Google remains our Best Bet; it’s our flat-out favorite of all search tools. Close behind is Fast (www.alltheweb.com). I hace not tried it, but one of my friends told me that hos name and number were removed within 48 hours. So if you don’t want to have your number listed, send an e-mail!
