A folding trailer, in the camping world, is the same thing as a popup camper.  It’s considered the entry level model of camping unit and is a great choice for families with kids who may have a limited budget but need a lot of sleeping space to accommodate the entire family. 

Small folding trailers will sleep 4 to 5 people; larger ones can accommodate up to 12 people although 12 adults might feel like they squeezed in like sardines. 

Where is all the sleeping space inside a folding camping trailer found?  The two main sleeping areas are going to be the beds on either end that slide out.  Those beds can be full size, queen size, king size, or a combination.  My folding camping trailer has a king size bed on one end and a queen size bed on the other.  Both sleep 2 adults comfortably. 

The dining table and seating area also converts into a sleeping area.  The seats and table are folded down and the cushions are used as the “mattress.”  Although it can be an adequate sleeping area for two adults, it is usually much better suited to two kids. 

The seating areas in a folding trailer also convert to sleeping areas.  The amount of sleeping area they provide depends on how big the seating area is.  In most cases it is large enough for one adult or two children.
