I was so glad I got our Moving Cost Estimate in writing! When it was time to actually pick a company, I found one I wanted, but their costs were just too high. So I called them and explained that I really wanted to use their services, but that they were just out of my price range, and I said I was surprised, considering the estimates I had taken from similarly-situated companies. With a little negotiating, and some proof in the form of the other written quotes from those companies, we were able to settle on a price that I could afford! It really pays to shop around and get several estimates, so you can pick the one you want, and have a bargaining chip too!
