There are many features available on walk in showers for the elderly and disabled. Many convenient and safe features include a built in seat, arm rests, thermostatic controls, three shower/tap positions, a large waste outlet, and a booster seat. These custom built showers also come in different colors to blend in with an existing bathroom decoration. No matter the design, the most important aspect is the safety features that bring comfort to someone who needs to bathe without assistance. Some elderly people have experienced getting stuck in the bathtub or shower. Therefore, redesigning their bath can improve their quality of life.
