The obesity epidemic among teenages is increasing the incidence of high blood pressure along with other weight related problems such as diabetes and vascular damage. High blood pressure enlarges the heart and this increases the likelihood of heart disease in later life, probably even earlier!

The cause of this problem is no mystery. It comes down to poor diets high in fat, sugar and salt combined with little to no exercise and other physical activity. The days when children congregated outdoors to run around and play sports are dying out. Watching movies and playing computer games contributes to obesity and hypertension. Only by reversing our unhealthy lifestyles will this problem be solved.
