LDV sold to Chinese company
Well it’s finally happened LDV which had been in administration since May has been sold to a Chinese firm. LDV vans which were popular with many from couriers to van hire companies has been transferred to the venture firm Eco Concept after long negotiations with LDVs administrators. It seems likely that the firm’s UK operations will be completely wound up and the van manufacturing machinery and plant will be shipped to china. LDV had employed around 800 staff and around 1200 people in it’s van dealerships which also sold light trucks. It has had a difficult history having been the subject of a management buyout in 1993 followed by another sale in 2005 to a venture group and finally to GAZ in 2006
